The group of 23 pilgrims, 18 of whom are Russians, was stopped as they had only visas for Greece. The problem was solved with the help of EU officials who were called on by Dragan Jablanovic, head of the Leposavic municipal council. The icon will stay at the Patriarchate of Pec by October 14 when the monastery celebrates its day - the Protection of the Theotokos. The pilgrimage started in Moscow on September 21, went through Russia, Belarus, Romania and stopped at the St. Sava Temple in Belgrade, and from the point the pilgrims continued towards the Patricrachate of Pec on foot.
