Eulex mission chief General Ives de Kermabon previsouly said he is prepared to meet with the representatives of the Kosovo Serbs who were elected on May 11, becoming the first representative of the international community to openly express such a view in circumstances in which UNMIK ignored Serb local elections in the province.

Kosovo Serb leader Marko Jaksic said talks with De Kermabon are not acceptable to him, as he is a representative of "a mission that is coming to sieze a part of the state of Serbia."

"No Serb should conduct talks with him, because this would mean that we are agreeing to the siezure of a part of our territory," Jaksic stated.

Goran Bogdanovic, who is heading the Kosovo branch of Serbian president Boris Tadic's Democratic Party said that "De Kermabon is not someone with whom we could talk."

"The relevant representatives of the international community are UNMIK and Kfor, and we will not give up this position," Bogdanovic stated.

He recalled that Eulex has come to Kosovo illegally, but expressed hope that other international officials will meet with the real representatives of the Kosovo Serbs.
