San Marino recognizes Kosovo’s secession

San Marino has recognized Kosovo’s unilateral secession, becoming the 40th UN member (out of 192) to do so.

Meanwhile, pressure on Prague to recognize Kosovo's secession is increasing.

Czech Foreign minister Karel Schwarzenberg, one of the main proponents of recognition, said on Wednesday Prague has to take a decision.

"I believe we will soon recognize Kosovo. This is not about ethical principles, but about existing facts", he said.

"This is not, however, an easy question given that we are talking about a partition of a state", Schwarzenberg said.
