Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said on Wednesday in Zubin Potok, northern Kosovo, that the issue of the southern province will be the first priority of the new government following the May 11 elections.

"After May 11, we will need a new national, statehood government whose first task would be to respect the message: Kosovo is Serbia," Kostunica told a rally.

"There is no nation in the world which would accept giving up its territory," he said.

Some 100,000 Kosovo Serbs will vote on Sunday in the Serbian parliamentary and local elections.

Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) is seen as favorite to win the majority of Kosovo Serb votes, as it did in the 2007 elections.
