Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos said after meeting his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic that Kosovo's indepedendence "upsets stability in the Balkans" and vowed that Madrid would not recognize what it considers a move contrary to international law.
Meanwhile, in Pristina, Slovak Foreign Minister Jan Kubis told the Albanian leadership that Bratislava does not recognize their unilateral act.
"Slovakia has its own reasons for this position," Kubis said in Pristina after his meeting with Kosovo's President Fatmir Sejdiu and Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuqi.
After a visit to Belgrade, Kubis arrived in Kosovo, where he met ethnic Serb leaders in the northern town of Kosovska Mitrovica.
