"The Republic of Macedonia has committed an act contrary to international norms and the provisions of the 2001 bilateral agreement which defined the border between the two states by starting to demarcate the border together with Pristina representatives who have no legitimity and are not empowered for such activities", the Serbian Foreign ministry said.

"In addition, the Republic of Macedonia has also broken the 1996 bilateral agreement on regulating and fostering cooperation, which commits both states to respect each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity", the ministry said.

As Macedonia has through this act openly violated international norms, the UN Charter and the bilateral border agreement, Serbia will raise this issue before relevant UN institutions, the ministry said.
