Belgrade offers new agreement to Unmik
Serbia has offered a new agreement to Unmik aimed at resolving the problems that exist in the field after Kosovo’s unilateral secession, as well as at preventing the transfer of authority from the UN to the EU mission.

The document was presented by Serbian minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic to Unmik deputy chief Larry Rossin.
Its objective is to leave no space open for double interpretations of the UN Resolution 1244.
"We have to see how we will function in the upcoming period. Unmik stays in the field, there is no question about its retreat. The 120-day transitional period some have envisaged will not take place - Unmik will stay on day 121", Serbia's State Secretary for Kosovo Dusan Prorokovic said.
Prorokovic says Serbia has its "legitimate competencies" in Kosovo, as defined by resolution 1244 and the 2001 agreement between Belgrade and Unmik.
The 2001 agreement promotes the protection of the rights of the Serbs, including the territorial integrity of then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (now Serbia as its legal successor).
