NATO encouraged by lack of violence in Kosovo
NATO foreign ministers are encouraged by the lack of violence in Kosovo, the Alliance Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said at the end of the ministerial meeting Thursday in Brussels.

"There was no interethnic violence, no organized attacks on religious sites and no major flows of refugees", Scheffer said.
He hailed "political maturity shown in Pristina".
Scheffer underlined that, under UN resolution 1244, Kfor had the mandate to act throughout the territory of Kosovo.
In Kosovo, KFOR commander for Sector East, U.S. General John Davoren, said KFOR was resolved not to allow the existence of parallel Serb security institutions.
