Kosovo Police Service (KPS) said that at least four police stations in northern Kosovo have been reinforced in a move widely seen as precautionary measure amid aggressive preparations for independence day in Pristina and firm refusal of local Serb population to accept such a decision, which is expected to be made by Albanian-controlled parliament.

In addition to fresh police forces in northern Kosovo, NATO began deploying some 560 Italian troops, mainly around Serb enclaves in central and northern part of province, places which might turn out to be the most vulnerable hot spots in a case that new tide of violence follows the decisions by Pristina leaders.
