EU mission must be approved by UNSC, Jeremic tells Kouchner
Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said in Paris on Wednesday that Serbia “will not accept an imposed solution for Kosovo and a solution contrary to international law, and is ready to find a compromise solution through the continuation of a peaceful and diplomatic status dialogue.”

"(French Foreign Minister Bernard) Kouchner said that it was absolutely important to preserve the political, institutional and security environment in the region, which will enable the continuation of processes leading to the full integration of the Western Balkans into the EU. Finding a solution for the future status of Kosovo and Metohija is part of the process," Jeremic said.
The Serbian minister told his collocutor that "an EU mission must be approved by the UN Security Council in order to be legitimate."
"We are ready to discuss that in the Security Council and continue with the status dialogue that will lead to finding a thorough solution for Kosovo's status, including a new makeup of international presence," Jeremic said.
According to him, "the best way for Europe to engage adequately in Kosovo is to send a mission, but that mission must be in line with international law" and approved by the UN.
