"With my coworker and friend Sharon Stone and her childhood friends of Serbian ancestry, I will organize a protest against the attempts to grant independence to Kosovo," the US actor told the Frankfurt daily News.
"I strive to use my popularity to help the mankind, to contribute to solving the number of problems afflicting today's world," he said.
Famous actress Sharon Stone grew up with friends who have a Serbian background, and has said she considers them to be her dearest friends, "like a brother and a sister."
"I am aware of this unjust situation concerning Kosovo, which wants to be an independent state, and it is nearly impossible for me to imagine that happening. That is why we have been thinking about organizing some kind of public protest. We are sorry that the US has no good explanation about what the truth is. The Kosovo lobby is very strong and, unfortunately, America's interests are on their side. We are waiting for the outcome of negotiations and then we will see what can be organized," the Hollywood diva said.
Sharon Stone has the reputation of a great humanitarian. She collected several million dollars for AIDS victims two years ago, regularly helps abandoned children and is adamantly against the war in Iraq.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has recently appointed Clooney a UN Messenger of Peace. Clooney is known as a fighter for human rights, particularly his stressing of the crimes committed in the Sudanese region of Darfur. The Hollywood actor was also very active in collecting money for the victims of September 11, tsunamis and hurricane Katrina, and also raised his voice against the war in Iraq.
