Rogozin: Russia to demand UN conference on protection of international law
In the case of a violent proclamation of Kosovo's independence, Russia will seek a conference on the protection of international law under UN auspices, newly-appointed Russian Ambassador to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said.

"We will demand that a representative conference be organised, under the UN auspices, on the protection of international law", Rogozin said, adding that such a move might suffice to stop unilateral acts, particularly if Serbia continues to be "decisive, tough and principled in refusing to accept Kosovo's independence".
Rogozin said Western countries which are supporting Kosovo's independence must accept the rule that there can be no independence without agreement from the state from which secession is sought.
The Russian ambassador said the EU must pay attention that Kosovo is "huge laboratory of drugs" and that the EU should be defending its standards and civilization values by protecting Kosovo Serbs and preventing terrorists and criminals from taking power in Pristina.
If Washington supports Pristina's unilateral independence, "a Pandora box of planetary separatism will be opened, and it will be the exclusive fault of Washington and Brussels", Rogozin warned.
"This will lead to uncontrollable chaos. Those in Moscow who are still against the recognition of Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Transdniestria will remain without any arguments", he said.
