Early results of the investigation show that the detainee was not acting out of ethnic or religious motives and that his reasons were those connected to purely material gains, which is why the police in Kosovo Polje launched an investigation for aggravated theft.

In the release, the police noted that Buzuku is Ashkali by ethnicity and a citizen of Kosovo Polje, and that he would be kept in detention for 48 hours.

A total of 56 Serb tombstones were destroyed or damaged at the Kosovo Polje central graveyard and the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija asked the international community to find and punish the vandals immediately.

Desecration of the Orthodox cemetery in Kosovo Polje was fiercely condemned by UNMIK and OSCE mission in Kosovo.
