Austrian MEP and Rapporteur for Kosovo Ulrike Lunacek and former Czech Republic Office to Kosovo Head Janina Hrebickova are among the candidates.

There was no special interest in the position and some even declined the offer to run for the job, the daily quoted unnamed diplomats as saying.

It is also unknown what the future EU office in Kosovo would be called.

The EU wants to merge the positions of special representative and EC delegation chief and appoint a single head to run them, the daily reports.

Feith will, however, remain the head of the International Civilian Office (ICO) which is in charge of monitoring the implementation of the Ahtisaari plan.
