Dacic, Marnhac on better cooperation
Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and EULEX mission head Xavier de Marnhac met in Belgrade on Monday

They took a stand for improving cooperation with a view to combating crime and raising the level of general security on both sides of the administrative line between Kosovo and Serbia proper.
According to a press release from the Serbian Interior Ministry, Dacic and De Marnhac agreed existing cooperation should be stepped up in the forthcoming period, especially between police forces, while the two officials also pointed out a need for quicker and more efficient exchange of operative data.
Dacic emphasized that it was in Serbia's interest for EULEX to be as successful as possible, maintaining peace and stability in Kosovo, rating all crime-fighting activities positively.
The head of EULEX praised the cooperation up till now and voiced the intention for a greater EULEX presence in northern Kosovo in the approaching period.
This was De Marnhac's first official visit to Belgrade since he became the chief of EULEX, during which he is to become acquainted with the ministers he is cooperating with.
