Kosovo Serb Families Call for Ban on loudmouth “Guard of Tzar Lazar”
The Association of Families of the Kidnapped and Murdered Serbs in Kosovo urged on Monday the Serbian Interior Ministry to ban the so-called “Guard of Tzar Lazar”, a recently formed phantom organization, labeled illegal by UNMIK.

The Association called for a ban after the Guard's verbal threats of retaliation against ethnic Albanians if they declared Kosovo's independence.
According to the association, because of such statements "the terrorist Albanian National Army (ANA) controls the territory along the border with Serbia proper," with the explanation it will prevent an incursion by the "Guard of Tzar Lazar".
"No one has the right to jeopardize peace and the ongoing Kosovo talks," the Association stresses.
A news release from the Association also appeals to the military reservists from Prokuplje, Blace and Kursumlija not to answer the call to attend a rally the "Guard of Tzar Lazar" plans to hold in Merdare, on the administrative border with Kosovo, on Nov. 28, the Albanian Flag Day.
Serbian officials have said that the "Guard of Tzar Lazar" is not a security threat, adding that the number of members of the organization and their willingness to act was questionable. Also, Belgrade officials have said that the false news of the guard's strength must not provide justification for tolerating the much more real and dangerous Albanian National Army, active both in Kosovo and Macedonia.
