Kosovo Albanians now more worried about unemployment than status

The Kosovo Albanians are now more worried about unemployment – with 41 percent, up six points in seven months – than with the unresolved Kosovo status – 39 percent, down 13 points -- according to the latest poll published by Gallup International.

The poll has also shown that the opposition Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) led by former Kosovo Liberation Army leader Hashim Thaci is in front just a few days before the November 17 elections, with 31 percent of vote intentions.

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) of former leader Ibrahim Rugova and current president Fatmir Sejdiu has 29 percent - down eight points since August -- according to a survey by Gallup International.

The latest poll has also seen a strong improvement in the ratings of the Alliance for New Kosovo (AKR) headed by the mogul Bexhat Pacolli.

The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) of the Hague tribunal war crimes indictee Ramush Haradinaj is down three points to 9 percent, while the Democratic League of Dardania (LDD) of Nexhat Daci is at eight percent, and the Ora Party of opposition leader Veton Surroi at five percent - both at almost unchanged ratings since August.
