According to the president's cabinet, Tadic thanked Moratinos for Spain's support for Serbia's European integration and for not recognizing the illegally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.

Tadic met with the two foreign ministers to talk about Serbia's "ever improving relations with regional countries".

He said that the common goal for all is regional stabilization, prosperity and a European future.

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic also met with Davutoglu and Moratinos in Belgrade on Tuesday.

"Serbia will do everything to make sure that the EU-Western Balkans summit in Sarajevo is successful and for open questions to be solved," Jeremic said.

He said that hard work will be put into this issue, adding that if they cannot solve these issues, "no one can".

"We do not agree on all questions," Jeremic said, adding that "Spain and Serbia do not recognize Kosovo, but Turkey does, but this does not stop us from cooperating in the future, in order to achieve our regional priorities."

Moratinos said that he and Davutoglu came to Belgrade for several reasons, the main being that Serbia is a central player in the Western Balkans.

"We came to support the joint vision of the Western Balkans in the EU, but also to define steps for realizing this vision," Moratinos said.

He added that they talked about the Sarajevo conference, scheduled for June, as well and about the progress being made by Western Balkans countries in EU and NATO integration.
