The media in Pristina report that the character of the planned visit has been changed from an official to a private stay without any state ceremony, which is why the visit has been called off.
According to the statement by Sejdiu's cabinet, the Kosovo president received an invitation from Macedonian President Djordje Ivanov on May 13 to make a one-day visit to Skopje, which the cabinet of the Kosovo president accepted that very same day.
In the meantime, President Sejdiu canceled the visit to Macedonia planned for May 28 because the Macedonian side had changed the nature of the visit, the statement said.
