EULEX has technical, not political mandate
Head of Mission EULEX Kosovo Yves de Kermabon called on all the people involved in Kosovo events not to politicize the EU's mission, pointing out that the mission's mandate is of technical nature.

Kermabon told the Pristina daily in Albanian language Ekspres that he did not have a mandate of his own so that he could interfere in political and status issues and that the UN-Belgrade "six-point plan" is neither EULEX's responsibility nor its decision.
"I am not trying to go beyond, to diverge from this position. I am in Kosovo with a clear directive to work for the welfare of its citizens in the area of the rule of law", Kermabon said, underscoring that he had told the same thing to the Serbian ministers.
