Rogozin: There was no reason for Kosovo's independence
Russia's Ambassador to NATO Dmitry Rogozin has said in Brussels that not a single reason existed for the independence of Kosovo and that the decision on the recognition of the unilaterally declared independence is not in the interest of Europe

At the start of this year, security in Kosovo was ensured by NATO, Serbia had no plans for attacking it, Slobodan Milosevic had been buried for some time and Serbia had a pro-european government with euro-atlantic ambitions - therefore, the question is exactly who was threatening the Kosovo Albanians?" Rogozin said, underscoring that "the recognition of independence is not in the interest of Europe".
He pointed out that "there was no reason for the independence of Kosovo".
