Belgrade calls on US not to oppose Serbia’s initiative at the UN

"The United States opposes this initiative, however, during the talks I voiced the firm stand that we will not give up this initiative, that it will be presented to the General Assembly. I explained the reasons why we believe that this initiative will contribute to peace and stability in the Balkans," Jeremic said.

He said that he was told in Washington that the United States would take into consideration and review Serbia's arguments, but that the stand on how the United States would act at the General Assembly had not been voiced.
