Meanwhile, in Paris, the French authorities announced they have handed over to Kosovo organs Besim Berisa, 28, of Pristina, who is suspected of the murder of Serb Momcilo Milenkovic, 64, and involvement in the disappearance of his son Svetomir Milenkovic, 38.

Momcilo Milenkovic was strangled at his house in Pristina on August 2, 1999, and his son Svetomir is still registered as a missing person.

Berisa was arrested in Decani on August 3, 1999, and accused of the murder of the father and involvement in the disappearance of the son. Berisha was released on March 20, 2000, after charges were dropped due to lack of evidence.

The Office of the District Prosecutor and the Supreme Court appealed the ruling and the case was returned for a retrial. Meanwhile, however, Berisha left Kosovo.

The Police said that Berisha arrived in France with a forged birth certificate in November 2004, where he registered as Burim Dibrani.

He was arrested in France under that name in September 2006 for burglary and sentenced to 30 months in prison.

He was again arrested in France on August 7, 2008, for robbery and, following identification, he was handed over to the Kosovo judiciary on August 27, 2008, on the grounds of an international arrest warrant.

In Belgrade, Serbian President Boris Tadic received on the occasion of August 30 - International Day of the Disappeared - a delegation of the Association of families of persons kidnapped or murdered in Kosovo.

Some 2,000 Kosovo Serbs went missing during and after the 1998-99 conflict.
