Serbia’s Cavic, suspended for wearing “Kosovo is Serbia” t-shirt in Holland, now beats Olympic record in Beijing

Serbia’s swimming champion, Milorad Cavic, who became known by the international public after wearing the t-shirt “Kosovo is Serbia” at the podium of European championships in Eindhoven this spring, broke on Thursday the Olympic record in the 100m butterfly competition in Beijing.

In Eindhoven, organizers had suspended the University of California political-science student for wearing the shirt, calling it `a clear political action'' in violation of the rules.

Cavic said at the time he was trying to send ``positive energy'' to Serbia after Kosovo's unilateral secession.
