Malaysia freezes decision on Kosovo recognition
Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said in Kuala Lumpur on Monday that Malaysia has decided to freeze the process of the recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo and that it will adopt its decision concerning support to Serbia's initiative for seeking the opinion of the International Court of Justice on this issue before the United Nations General Assembly before the meeting of that body.

"Malaysia has suspended the begun procedure of the recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed independece of Kosovo and Metohija and that process has now been frozen," Jeremic said after his talks with Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and other senior officials of this Asian country.
"The Malaysian prime minister has said that Malaysia supports the peaceful resolving and the resolving through consensus of international conflcits and expressed Malaysia's dedication to respect of international law. He expressed understanding for Serbia's initiative to seek, at the UN General Assembly meeting, the consultative opinion of the International Court of Justice on the legality of the proclamation of independence," the Serbian foreign minister said.
Jeremic said the Malaysian prime minister specified, during their talks, that his country will take the final decision on whether it will support Serbia's initiative ahead of the very session of the UN General Assembly.
