It brought down the resolution proposal of the Catalan parliament about the situation of Kosovo supporting the independence of Kosovo and asking the government to recognize the "new sovereign State".
The final document showed its respect for the will of the Kosovo parliament to be an independent state.
Madrid is firmly opposed to the independence of Kosovo and it fears a Kosovo precedent for its Basque and Catalan regions, where secessionist tendencies run high.
