Speaking at a Brussels conference, Berisha said "Kosovo is a unique case, but Kosovska Mitrovica is not unique as there are many Mitrovicas in the Balkans".
"International borders of Kosovo must be fully respected", Albania's Prime minister said, accusing Belgrade of "organizing parallel institutions".
"Northern Kosovo should be a litmus test for the new Serbian government", Berisha said, adding that "Kosovo is a shiny example of human and minority rights".
Thaci said he hoped the new Serbian government would collaborate with Pristina and that the Kosovo Serbs would accept the Ahtisaari plan instead of setting up parallel institutions.
