The Serbs from southern Kosovo said that they thought they should be there, although they did not receive an invitation for talks.

They carried the banners reading "The Serbs South of the Ibar River- Third-Rank Citizens", "Over 250,000 Serbs Expelled from the Territory of Our Municipalities."

Strpce Mayor Zvonko Mihajlovic demanded from the north Kosovo Serbs to back their participation in the next meeting, as the talks without them would not be a good move.

Zubin Potok Mayor Slavisa Ristic said earlier on Tuesday, straight before entering the government building for the meeting with Serbia's state leadership, that he thinks that the Serbs living in the municipalities south of the Ibar River should take part in these meetings.

"We are all the same - in the north and south (of Kosovo-Metohija). We have the same problem and we have nothing against them entering the building, but I think they should ask to be received," Ristic said.
