We are puzzled by the decision of the Council of Europe not to lift the immunity of his, since Marty said that he had found evidence of transplants and we are disappointed that he did not testify, Ratel said after the verdict in the case was reached. This was indeed a misfortune, he added.

The EULEX prosecutor pointed out that it is not yet all over regarding the case of the illegal trade in human organs, as an investigation is underway against eight persons who may face charges of organized crime, trafficking in persons, grievous bodily harm, abusing official position of authority, fraud and trading in influence very soon.

Ratel said that the investigation against these persons, carried out both in and outside Kosovo, was launched on his order.

A mixed panel of two EULEX judges and one local judge at the Pristina Basic Court, presided by a EULEX judge, found the owner of the Medicus Clinic and four other persons guilty in the Medicus case and sentenced them to a total of 20 years in prison on Monday.
