"The two suspects have been released pending trial by the prosecutor even though they are suspected of attempted murder by the Kosovo police" Kosovo Police Deputy Regional Director Ergin Medic told Tanjug on Saturday evening.

He said earlier on Saturday that 17-year-old D.K. and 18-year-old B.S., both residents of Bosnjacka Mahala, northern Kosovska Mitrovica, were put in custody. Medic did not confirm or refuted whether the suspects are Albanians.

He said that a knife was found, which is believed to be used in the attack, adding that the case was characterized as an attempted murder.

Two boys, a Serb and a Gorani, who were stabbed in the back in the neighborhood of Bosnjacka Mahala on Saturday, are not in a life-threatening condition and they are hospitalized in the Kosovska Mitrovica Health Center.
