Students called on their colleagues from other Serbian universities and Serbian citizens to join their protest in the fight for the preservation of the Pristina University in Kosovska Mitrovica within Serbia's educational system, and announced that their would forward their requests to the Belgrade government.
"Do we have a right to the future? Whose IDs, driver's licences and health insurance card will we be using and where will we get medical treatment? Which country will issue our degrees and whose seal will the documents bear? Which programme will be used in education, and will we remain an integral part of the Serbian education system or will we be the Diaspora?," president of the Students' Parliament Slobodan Arsic asked.
In addition to national flag, the students carried banners with paroles such as 'No to assimilation', '10,500 students say No' and 'We don't want Kosovo seal on our degrees'.
The protest opened by an intonation of the national anthem and ended in a protest march to the main Ibar Bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica which separates the northern Serb part from southern Mitrovica which is home to Kosovo Albanians.
