They called on the government to renounce the agreement which is, as they say, unacceptable for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, and to stage a referendum for the people to state their mind on the act if the Serbian parliament cannot do so.

After a visit to the Patriarchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Belgrade, representatives of northern Kosovo Serbs told reporters that they were informed at the meeting that the church and the patriarch are on the side of Serbs in Kosovo.

Zubin Potok Mayor Slavisa Ristic informed reporters that the Church and Patriarch Irinej stated at the meeting they are on the side of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija and that they would back their peaceful struggles and resistance so as to stay and survive in Kosovo-Metohija.

Ristic announced a protest in Belgrade if their requests are not met.

The meeting in the Patriarchy gathered Deputy Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Krstimir Pantic, Head of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Radenko Nedeljkovic, Mayor of Leposavic Dragisa Vasic, Zvecan Mayor Dragisa Milovic and Kosovska Mitrovica Mayor Dragisa Vlaskovic.
