Vucic: Serbia did not recognize Kosovo

Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Friday that the agreement on the proposed accord between Belgrade and Pristina in Brussels was not Serbia's recognition of Kosovo's independence, and that the decision on whether to accept the deal would be made in the coming days.

"We will not fall for the fabrications by (Kosovo's Prime Minister) Hasim Taci. We are aware of the gravity of the situation and great responsibility on us for the future of Serbia and all our people. At this point, this is the maximum we could get for our people in Kosovo," Vucic told the daily Vecernje Novosti, according to the newspaper's website.

Vucic responded to Taci's statement given to reporters after the talks in Brussels, saying that the agreement was Serbia's de jure recognition of Kosovo.
"Serbia did not recognize Kosovo's independence this way, nor will it ever do so," Vucic underscored.
