The European Parliament (EP) adopted on Thursday a resolution on Kosovo's progress in EU integration that was put forward by Rapporteur Ulrike Lunacek by a great majority.

The resolution underlines that Kosovo should have a European perspective, and calls on the EU member states which have not recognized Kosovo to do that as soon as possible.

The MEPs strongly supported EULEX's work, but urged the Kosovo authorities to combat corruption and organized crime with more resolve.

The resolution was adopted without a debate, given that it was discussed before the EP Foreign Affairs Committee in March this year, and then at the plenary session on Wednesday.

The parliament adopted a resolution on Serbia earlier on Thursday, calling on the European Council to grant Serbia a start date for EU accession talks as soon as possible.
