Replying to the question to whether the media allegations are true that Reeker and former assistant secretary of state Philip Gordon who now works as Obama's advisor for Near East are in contact with the Serbian government and are exerting pressure with a view to having Belgrade sign the agreement, Ventrell said that Reeker 'is only providing consultative assistance'.
The Serbian government refused the agreement offered in Brussels on April 2 as Pristina did not agree to grant the community of Serb municipalities any executive powers.
High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and other western officials agreed that Belgrade turned away from the EU by refusing to sign the draft principled agreement with Pristina.
The Belgrade government released that Serbia will stick to the search for a lasting and sustainable solution for the Kosovo issue, and called for immediate continuation of the dialogue with Pristina.
