Commenting on Taci's statement that the failure to reach an agreement could lead to “the deterioration of the situation”, Vulin said on Thursday evening that what Taci is saying is yet another in a series of blackmails and threats that are not being punished by the international community.
Advisor to the Serbian president Marko Djuric said, also in response to Thursday's statement by Kosovo Prime Minister, that political pressures could not undermine Belgrade's resolve.
“We are concerned and expect the international community to explain to us what Taci is talking about and whether they know something we don't. As far as we are concerned, the situation in northern Kosovo and other areas populated by Serbs is completely stable and could be destabilized only by violence, and violence will certainly not come from Serbia,” Vulin told Tanjug.
Vulin underlined that Serbia would not use threats.
Djuric told Tanjug that Serbia deems that it is very important that everyone involved in the negotiating process be aware of the responsibility for ensuring security conditions in Kosovo-Metohija and the wider region.
“No one could benefit from “saber-rattling”, political or other threats. In that sense, Serbia will never be the one to add fuel to the fire or stir violence from any side,” Djuric said.
Taci said in Pristina on Thursday that the failure to reach an agreement could lead to “the deterioration of the situation”, and he explained at a Pristina panel what he actually thought, announcing that if Belgrade does not accept an agreement proposal, Kosovo institutions will establish government in the north too. That solution would also be the most difficult one for Serbs, the Kosovo prime minister said.
