Vucic's presence in Brussels additional guarantee

Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Deputy President Nebojsa Stefanovic said on Monday that the SNS believes that First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic's participation in the dialogue in Brussels is a courageous move at this difficult moment that Serbia is facing.

Such a decision indicates responsibility towards the state and the citizens, and at the same time it is an additional guarantee since the domestic and the international public apparently view as important Vucic's participation in the eight round of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue in Brussels on Tuesday.

When asked whether the senior officials can expect a better offer this time than in the previous round of the dialogue, Stefanovic said that he cannot say anything for sure since no one knows that at the moment.
"Last time we had nothing or barely nothing which was unacceptable for Serbia. I expect that our team will be presented with something considerably better, and that everyone will come to realize that a compromise is an acceptable solution for both sides, rather than just continue to humiliate Serbia," Stefanovic said.

Asked about the minimum that the top officials have determined, Stefanovic said that the starting point is the Resolution on Kosovo which was adopted in the Serbian parliament, adding that the negotiators are going to fight for the best possible position for Serbs in Kosovo.
"I believe that they will consider every item and word of the agreement very carefully, and that the document, which will be adopted, will be in our best interest," Stefanovic underlined, adding that Serbia is committed to the dialogue and ready to discuss everything in the reasonable scope i.e. the compromises that need to be achieved.

Asked whether it is possible that riots will break out in Kosovo after Tuesday's round of talks, Stefanovic said that no hothead and no man, who wants to think seriously and who wishes the best for the people, will not do anything that may harm the national interest.
"I hope that everyone will realize that the state delegation will do everything in its might to protect the interests of the Serbian people, and I hope that no one wants to score political points on this topic, and thus practically harm the national interest," said the SNS official, who is also the speaker of the Serbian parliament.

Asked whether it is possible for elections to be called after the talks in Brussels, Stefanovic said that this issue has not been discussed, but that the SNS is always ready to check the legitimacy of all decisions that it has made.
