DSS: Critical time to reject EU ultimatum
Spokesperson for the opposition's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Petar Petkovic said on Monday Serbia was at a critical moment for rejecting all of the EU's ultimatums and stating clearly it would not trade Kosovo for the start date of the accession talks.

Serbia would benefit in two ways if it rejected the ultimatums by the west and Brussels, he told a news conference, explaining that it would continue fighting for Kosovo and finally establish normal relations with the EU, ending its EU integration, which had only been at Serbia's cost.
It would cause immesurable historical damage if Serbia agreed to give up Kosovo, if it abandoned its people there at the last moment and relinquished its territory, he noted.
The coming days are very important for Serbia, because some issues concerning its future will be settled, which is why it is very significant that Serbia provide the right response to EU integration, he stressed.
"That is why members of the German parliament and (EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan) Fuele are in Belgrade today, to clarify the views of Serbia and the EU," Petkovic remarked.
The DSS believes Serbia should not under any circumstances destroy the Serbian government institutions in Kosovo, he said.
The DSS has no doubt the EU's goal is for Serbia to be an accomplice in erasing its government's presence in Kosovo and giving up the territory, he underscored.
