The daily notes that the agreement was reached, but Belgrade and Pristina requested a little more time from EU officials so as to prepare their public for agreed solutions, as it is evident that neither Serbs, nor Albanians in Kosovo would be satisfied with them. The mission of EU High Representative Catherine Ashton proved successful, and from our viewpoint, the agreement between Serbia and Kosovo on the formation and powers of an association of Serb municipalities in Kosovo has been reached, Blic writes, citing sources from Brussels. The daily also reports that the statement that Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic made after the meeting with Catherine Ashton that “Pristina has given in” caused concern in Brussels, as that threatened to jeopardize the agreement. Prime Minister Ivica Dacic denied anew on Tuesday that the agreement had been reached. “Some progress has been achieved in the dialogue, but we are far from a solution. I could not say that I am too big an optimist. There is an opinion that Belgrade would do anything for a date. That is wrong. Belgrade is not doing this for a date, but so that we can find a sustainable solution for the functioning of institutions that are recognized by both Belgrade and Pristina”, Dacic told reporters. Blic notes that the best proof of whether the agreement has been achieved will be given by Catherine Ashton, who will visit Pristina on Thursday, where she will talk with Kosovo officials. If she comes to Belgrade after Pristina, that will be a sure sign that the agreement was reached. Just in case, the Serbian government moved its meeting which starts at 1 p.m. every Thursday to morning hours, the daily writes.
