DSS: Do not annul Serbia's statehood in Kosovo
The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) called on the government on Monday to prevent the annulment of Serbia's statehood in Kosovo and the institutions of the Republic of Serbia in the province and noted that the institutions represent a constitutional and legal connection preserving the statehood of Serbia in Kosovo.

“We have to warn the government not to annul Serbia's statehood in Kosovo and institutions of the Republic of Serbia because these are not parallel structures and they represent the interest of the Republic of Serbia, and these also signify the survival of Serbs,” DSS spokesman Petar Petkovic stated.
During a news conference in the party's headquarters, Petkovic said that the Belgrade-Pristina talks which were announced in Brussels on Monday bear crucial importance for Serbia's future.
“Nevertheless, the EU is the mediator in the dialogue,” Petkovic noted and added that EU is a long-time originator and participant in the process of robbing Serbia of Kosovo.
He claims that the EU is on the verge of breakdown and as such, it wants Serbia to forsake a part of its territory and cancel its own presence for the sake of EU accession talks.
“From the perspective of the EU and Brussels, perhaps only such a crippled Serbia would be worthy of the date of accession talks and it would move toward membership like some kind of a mirage,” Petkovic noted.
The DSS spokesman believes meeting the ultimatums of Brussels and Berlin is not in Serbia's interest and thus work on its self-destruction and execution, and that the government should say that it is time to do away with ultimatums.
