Berlin for Vucic's greater role in Kosovo issue

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic that Germany insists on his greater involvement in the solving of the Kosovo issue, reads the Belgrade-based daily Politika on Friday.

Other German officials also informed Vucic that they expect him to be more engaged in the search for a solution for the Kosovo issue, the daily reports, quoting sources from Berlin. During his two-day visit to Berlin, the first deputy prime minister also met with Chancellor Angela Merkel's advisor Christoph Heusgen, MPs of the ruling Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU) coalition, and German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere.
