The talks began Tuesday afternoon, but no statements for the media were issued afterwards. The reason the meeting has gone into its second day are the important topics being tackled, as well as the desire to show progress in the dialogue ahead of the European Commission's report due out in April. After Dacic and Taci had separate meetings with EU officials on Tuesday, Ashton's spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic told reporters that more time has been set aside for this round of talks because the European Commission expects to see further progress in the dialogue, reiterating that northern Kosovo is among the key issues. The progress made today will determine whether another round of talks will be organized before April, sources at the Commission told Tanjug. The European Commission will issue its report on April 16.
