Aleksandar Vucic, Serbia's first deputy prime minister and defense minister, requested in the talks with German Defense Minister Thomas de Maiziere on Wednesday that the number of KFOR troops should not be reduced in Serb enclaves in Kosovo.

He underscored that the situation in Kosovo, Serbia's economic recovery and EU integration are intertwined processes, and that it is very important for Serbia whether it will be granted a starting date for the EU entry talks.
The two ministers discussed bilateral military and military-economic cooperation, and the training of Serbian officers in Germany.
Vucic is the first defense minister of Serbia who had an official meeting with his German counterpart in Germany in 11 years.
During the meeting, they also discussed the import of machinery for the defense industry, which has not been possible up to now. The two ministers also talked about joint participation in multinational operations under the EU and UN flags.As Vucic himself noted, the atmosphere during the talks was very positive.
