"Serbia sees Russia as a strategic partner. I thanked Duma Chairman Sergey Naryshkin on stating that Russia saw Serbia as a key partner in the Balkans, with whom it wants to cooperate," Stefanovic told Tanjug afterr meeting Naryshkin at the Duma.

"That cooperation and new wave of good relations is extremely good for creating a positive investment climate and attracting new Russian investments to Serbia," he said.

Commeting on Kosovo, the Russian side stressed it supported Serbia's view, Stefanovic remarked, adding that Serbia did not want to recognize Kosovo, nor would ever.

Russia remains firm in its view that it supports our position, he said.
"I stressed that we simply want for all talks to be in line with UN SC Resolution 1244 and status neutrality. It is important for our Russian partner as well. I asked, and it is very important to us, to ensure peace and safety for the Serbs in the Kosovo, especially in the north, and to allow those people to live normally," Stefanovic pointed out.

A part of the meeting with the Duma chairman concerned the South Stream project, that is a way for Serbia to declare it a national project, he said.

The cooperation between the two parliament is good, but is gaining new momentum now, Stefanovic said.
"The priority is to develop the work of committees. The cooperation in that field can be a lot better," he believes.
