Serbian Kosovo Ministry official Oliver Ivanovic says a rough deadline for talks between Belgrade and Pristina might be known after the current sessions of the UN GA.

Ivanovic said that "the upcoming event in New York should be taken advantage of to set the deadline for starting negotiations on Kosovo's status."

Ivanovic added that dialogue between the interested parties should begin as soon as possible, since 2011 is an election year in Kosovo and the election campaign "will mean extremely narrowed room for dialogue".

Ivanovic stated that negotiations and dialogue were in the best interest of Kosovo Albanians too, since no foreign capital would be invested in the province while Kosovo remained a volatile region.

Serbian President Boris Tadic and a Serbian state delegation will be visiting New York for the 65th session of the UN General Assembly, September 20-25.
